You may be wondering what #TECHNOGNITION is. It’s a national day dedicated to celebrating school and college technicians across all sectors. Now in its ninth year, the aim is to raise awareness and recognition of the vital work technicians do. Miss Smith, our Science Technician, was part of the original team who helped launch this event—something she is rightly very proud of.

The day is supported by suppliers and by the union Unison, who work to highlight the important role technicians play within education. We all hope that many more schools will fully recognise (hence the name!) the invaluable work that technicians do every day.

TECHNOGNITION was created to ‘showcase’ the wide range of tasks and responsibilities technicians manage to ensure practical and technical subjects run smoothly.

We would like to take this opportunity to give a huge shout-out to our own amazing technicians, who work tirelessly—often behind the scenes—to keep their departments running and to support the smooth delivery of lessons.

A massive thank you to our wonderful technicians at Stour Valley:

Mr McSweeney – Graphics & Resistant Materials
Mrs King – Food Technology
Mrs Tibbles – Art
Miss Smith – Science
Mr Cook – IT
Mr Bedwell – IT
